Whether you are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day or are just happy that spring has arrived, add a whimsical flair to your breakfast with these delightfully-fluffy green pancakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Flour
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Baking powder
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 Tbsp. Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
  • Green food coloring
  • Whipped cream
  • Sprinkles

Directions

1.)

Whisk together dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

2.)

In a separate bowl, whisk together wet ingredients: milk, melted butter, and egg.

3.)

Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients’ mixture, whisking until just combined. Some small lumps are okay.

4.)

Add green food coloring, mixing gently, until desired shade of green.

5.)

Heat NUCU’s 9.5 inch nonstick fry pan on medium heat. Using a paper towel and a small amount of vegetable oil, carefully grease the fry pan.

6.)

For each pancake, pour approximately 1/4 cup batter into the fry pan and spread into a circle.

7.)

Cook 1-2 minutes each side, or until small bubbles appear and begin to pop at the surface and edges.

8.)

Continue to cook with the remaining batter, oiling the fry pan as needed.

9.)

Serve, topped with whipped cream and sprinkles.

10.)

Pro Tip: Preheat your oven to 200 degrees. Use NUCU’s Medium Gold-coated nonstick sheet pan to keep pancakes warm in the oven until ready to serve. Cover lightly with aluminum foil.
