The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted day-to-day business across the nation and The Vollrath Company and its family of businesses is no exception. Vollrath has been able to support the surge in delivery for chains and small restaurants as stay-at-home takeout orders increase. “Delivery is an area that has been growing steadily over the past few years and we are glad that we have our new line of products ready to help businesses that are relying on delivery to keep their business alive during the wide-reaching social distancing restrictions,” says Jean Horvath, vice president of Vollrath’s Custom and Specialty Products division.
Vollrath is focused on serving customers and finding ways to convert existing products to support medical safety and sanitization to help slow the spread of the virus.
“Food preparation requires a high-level of sanitation, so we are very familiar with these types of standards. We have started to look at our product offering with a different perspective and have generated ideas like squeeze bottles for bulk hand sanitizer dispensing and mobile cleaning carts that are traditionally used for ice cream equipment that now can serve as useful sanitization stations. These sanitization stations can be used in make-shift hospitals, manufacturing locations; really any location that needs the ability wash or sanitize equipment.”
Along with the carts and squeeze bottles, various options of breath guards traditionally used in buffets and serving stations are now being offered to keep retail store personnel safe as they work to serve customers. Vollrath also has a line of medical products including patient care and laboratory supplies to help satisfy the demand of the hospitals and temporary medical facilities.
“Vollrath’s culture has always been about people. Not just those who work for us, but also about the communities and industries we serve. People are counting on us and we take that seriously. We are focused on helping as much as we can during this time of uncertainty. We hope that we are able to provide tools that are useful in the fight against the virus, but also that help support the safety of the people in our communities and the businesses they own,” she added.
